Steam

Loving the effects of steam in my mug of tea!

The Best Plan

Getting up early for a basketball practice and upon arriving found that the girls didn't show. It seems like a change in plans was the BEST plan! Since I was up I got to see the sun rise through the clouds! Sitting on the couch in the living room I was delighted to see the mountains in the North lit up with a beautiful blaze of pink! It was hard to capture a beautiful moment, but you can kind of see them in the background.
Having tea on my hand carved walnut serving tray!
John 6:48 says "I am the bread of Life."

The tray was hand carved and made in a beautiful part of the world! Check out Renew Carvings!

Love a Good View

I am discovering that I LOVE a good view. I was out for a run in my new neighborhood when I saw the clouds clear up over of the mountains and saw the snow! I just love all the colors and detail in this view! Behind the trees on the left you can see where the clouds are still clinging to the valley! The reddish plants are blueberry plants and the sitting water mirrors the sky! I'm just delighted! :)

Creating in the Kitchen!

Creating in the kitchen making Pizza Buns! They are my favorite thing to eat along side a bowl of soup!

Treasures in the Snow

Enjoying the season of pure white, reflecting snow!
A view of the North (Great White North) from my romping grounds!

A smiling swing!
Isn't it amazing that snow can gather on a laundry line?!

New Beginings in a New Year!

I'm in a place in my life where I NEED God desperately, so I feel like I'm learning a LOT. My view on life has changed from "Do I have to be back in Canada?" to "I'm going to make the most of where I'm at".

I'm reading this amazing blog by Ann Voskamp. As she's been reflecting on the past year and preparing for this new year she said some amazing things that have challenged me.

"Contentment is never a matter of circumstances; contentment is always a state of communion — a daily embracing of God. A thankfulness for all the gifts – and moments and life, just as He gives it. Trying harder may only bring harder trials and contentment, it won’t be be found in the resolutions, but in the revolutions – in the turning round to God." Ann Voskamp

As I have reflected upon the past year I KNOW that through the pain of transition I KNOW my Father deeper than I've ever known. He's using change to change me. Not knowing why it happened MAKES me walk out in faith, TRUSTING that He will provide for me emotionally, spiritually and physically. Through surrender I'm able to breathe deeper and smile at the future. It's stepping out in faith like I've never done before. Scary, but so freeing! It's like walking through a fog holding his hand. He's leading and I'm trusting.

Part of moving on with life and walking into this new year is moving out of my brother's house and in with a friend I recently met! She owns a heritage house in a cute village house and I'm renting from her. God's provision once again!

I'm so blessed to have a wood stove in the house! Just LOVE a roaring fire!

Captivated by the light.

Beauty in the Hard Places

Just had a great time remembering the nation of Afghanistan yesterday!
Hope, redemption, value, beauty were a few things that came up!
A friend shared this video with me! See the beauty of a difficult place in the world.
