Maria & Karlena in Haiti

In March, Maria and I (Karlena) went to Haiti for two weeks. Maria went to get Jesse's paper work finished and to bring him home. His passport was nowhere near being completed, so it was an absolute miracle from God that he came home with us. I went to meet Jacob and get him healthy, because he was VERY sick. We also took people in need to the doctor, bought rice and beans for Ken & Maria's neighbors from the summer and played with the kids at the orphanage. We had a bit of trouble getting out of the country because of the riots going on in the capital city (Port-au-Prince), but God opened doors and provided a way out. Ken and Maria are planning to go back in August to work there for one year. Joe and I will go when Jacob's paperwork is finished - hopefully within the year. Here are just a few pictures of our time there.

My Wonderful Extended Family!

I spent a whirlwind of a week visiting the relatives in Kelowna and Burns Lake! Got lots of visiting in and loved it! I even got my first sled ride from Sofia!!! Thanks girlie!
