For my latest science experiment/introduction,I drew some teeth on a boiled egg and then soaked it in several tea bags overnight. I told the class that the egg shell is like our teeth.... when we don't brush them, they turn brown. So when we brush them with toothpaste our teeth come clean! So I brushed the brown egg in class with toothpaste and they LOVED the fact that it turned white! And since these grade one guys are loosing their teeth (even during class), they're just even cuter! I've heard that my kids are brushing their teeth at random times of the day now! Whooo Hoooo for brushing teeth!

Brush, Brush, Brush your Teeth!
Brush, brush, brush your teeth, brush them everyday.... (to the tune of Row, row, row your boat) gets stuck in my head pretty often these days!

Greetings
I've been teaching my kids about the different greetings that we say to each other at different times of the day. They just have one greeting that they say at any time of the day. We made a little book with Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night! They did a great job drawing and coloring the sun and the moon, etc!

Snow Peas in April!
I planted snow peas last October in hopes of a late crop last year. They grew about a foot, but it was too cold for them to flower and produce. Since it froze and snowed in town this winter I thought they were finished. But when I came back in February they were still alive! So in the last two months they flowered (like crazy) and now I've been picking peas every 3-4 days!! I'm so blessed!

In Honor of Angie
Today I’m wishing I could be home with my Hooge family to celebrate my cousin Angie’s life. It was way too long since I saw her last, but since we were close in age I have good memories of her during my visits to her family’s house and at weddings. When she moved to BC she took me to Grandville Island and then watched Little Women together! Even though we didn’t see each other much I’m really blessed by the example that she was to me. We LOVE you Angie and know that you have left a beautiful legacy for your children, husband and others that knew you.
Here is a picture of us as kids. Angie is in the blue dress!

The Porch
My roommate and I did some retail therapy at the local nursery! It's been a few weeks and things are starting to bloom! I'll get some pictures of the whole porch when more flowers are in bloom!
I've never been a fan of anything orange until now! There is a deep red and orange flower at school!

These beauties have leaves that look like chrysanthemums, but the flowers are different. Any ideas what it could be?! I just LOVE the purple and and green combo!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. You can't really get hanging pots here so I tried to make my own from an old paint pail. It's not hanging yet... but maybe one day. Nasturtiums are fairly drought tolerant right?! They're doing great so far!

I just LOVE Petunia's and I finally found some here!

The pink ones only open up when the sun is out!
