We Taste With Our Tongues

I'm teaching about our 5 Senses and it's time to taste with our tongues! We got to eat real food and talk about what we can taste: sweet, salty, bitter, sour and spicey! We tasted lemons from one of my student's lemon trees and this is the reaction I got!

Time for Art!

A few years ago someone dropped off a card/art game at the school. Since then I've discovered that Kindergarten and Grade One kids are old enough to play/draw (I usually draw it on the board for them to copy). In the deck there are sets of cards with different shapes for: a face, a nose, eyes, a mouth and hair. You place them face down and then pick one of these for each face and you get a different looking face each time! Here is his website: http://pickanddraw.com/

Sights of Spring

More and more blossoms are budding on the trees! Just can't help trying to capture it!

You Light Up the Sky.......

My favorite song right now sums up how I feel about what I see:
"You light up the sky to show me You are with me.
No, I can't deny that you are right here with me.
You've open my eye so I can see You all around me.
You light up the sky to show me You are with me." The Afters

Back to School Again!

The smell of paint was in the air and the classroom was warm when the kids arrived for the first day of school! I've chosen to stay teaching Grade One so that means this is a new class full of kids for me. I've been getting to know them and they're super cute and eager to learn! I have a language assistant this year which I'm REALLY grateful for!

The kids line up in their classes and wait for until it's 9am to go into their class with their teacher! There are 220 kids attending school now!
